KPMG’s EU Tax Centre

Barry has built up some 30 years tax experience of which around half has been acquired at KPMG. After graduating from Oxford, Barry qualified as a UK solicitor, and has since worked for many years in the international tax field and is now specialized in Dutch and EU tax law, in particular in relation to the financial sector.  

At KPMG’s EU Tax Centre in the Netherlands, Barry heads up a dedicated team driving technical support to KPMG’s international network of EU tax law specialists. The Centre acts as a coordination point, actively monitoring EU law developments to ensure real time sharing of technical knowledge and insights across jurisdictions. He has counseled various EU financial institutions on the impact of EU tax developments. Barry is a recognized authority and author on EU tax issues, particularly the direct tax directives, the Savings Directive, CCCTB and financial transaction taxes.
